Summer Doldrums

Warm-weather months are a fun and busy time. It's time to cleanup the barbie, plant your flowers, and maybe take a trip to the beach. The cold weather is gone and the lazy, hazy days of summer are upon us. It just seems that so many things have been added to our plate, we have little time for anything else. But wait! Does that include the business you have worked so hard on during the winter? Unfortunately for some it does. It's like the race car driver, who speeds around the track and gets a lead of his competition, but then decides to coast the last few laps. Guess what - he is going to be passed. A lot of people virtually take the summer off from their online business, and... read full article > >

Many people say that the universe...basically nature itself, with all its energy changing and maybe even growing is really, really powerful. I won't argue with that...seen enough space movies full of super novas going boom to know better. Then they say the universe's power can work for... read full article > >

Live After 40

"For man, as a specie, and unlike other inhabitants of the globe, does not just ravage mindlessly the planet of its bounties in order to survive. He endeavours to leave behind legacies of the application of his mind." -Rasheed A. GbadamosiI turned 40 few months ago, and if statistics are right and I die on or around my 80th birthday, I am halfway done. So, for me, it's half time. And that got me thinking about football, particularly about the half time events in the locker room. The coach usually gathers all the players in the locker room for pep talk. Most of you can, probably, imagine that. There are two primary things that happen at half time. One is... read full article > >

Self Sabotage

Self sabotage is something we do to ourselves when we feel we don't deserve good things to happen to or for us. There is no logical explanation for why we don't or won't allow such things to happen. This is not for lack of desire for good things, rather, it's like a tug of war we play with ourselves inside between us wanting something good and not feeling worthy of it. Frequently using the word should is an excellent indication that one may be experiencing self sabotaging behaviors. If there is no real reason for one to not experience good things, then self sabotage is present.Self sabotage can be a minor thing- a phase- or it can become so serious that... read full article > >

Camping Gear Storage

You have bought the good quality camping gear for those great adventures with the family; now you need to look after your investment so you may use your gear over and over and have it ready and in good condition for the next outing. Mostly commonsense, but things are not always that obvious and there is always just the right [ or the wrong place ] for your gear depending upon how much gear you have and where you live.Obviously tucked away underneath the house may not be the best way to care for those material items such as sleeping bags and tents, etc Tents; Tents should always be stored in a dry place away from insects and mice that may eat or live in your investment without your permission. Blacks need to come out the closet to support BET News and B

We messed up. When we err, we need to admit it and move to correct the wrong. Black folks have been complaining about BET programming for ages when, in actuality, they've been checking it out on the "down low." Listening to the negativity over the years, even I was shocked to find out there were so many closet watchers secretly hooked on BET Nightly News. I've gotten calls and emails from people all over the country upset about BET's decision to cancel the program. Many of them say that BET is their only real connection to the Black community, and, for many organizations it is often the only TV coverage they receive. It's not just the over 40 crew tuning in... read full article > >
